This 1 Day Rhino tracking tour transfers you to the only home of wild rhinos in Uganda Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your lifetime experience of being in position to see the endangered magnificent creatures in their natural home and track them on foot. The Rhino re-introduction project was a project of Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority. This 1 Day Rhino tracking tour at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Wildlife Ranch starts early in the morning after breakfast, where your driver guide picks you up at 7:00 am from the agreed pickup point or hotel of residence in Kampala or Entebbe. The driver guide will brief you about your 1 day rhino tracking tour, then embark on a 3 hour’s drive to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for this day’s activity. We shall drive through the districts of Kampala, Luweero until we reach Nakasongola district branching off at Nakitoma Trading Centre reaching the home of Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Upon arrival at the Sanctuary, you will be further welcomed and briefed by highly trained rangers who will also guide you through the rhino tracking activity. The rangers will also take you through the tracking guidelines and history of the sanctuary. Presently the sanctuary is home to thirty-two (32) southern white rhinos.
During the Rhino tracking exercise, you will see a number of white rhinos in very close proximity while on foot. You will also get a chance of seeing other species of animals like bushbucks, reedbucks, monkeys, oribis, among others, birds like the shoebill stock and reptiles. You will also be in position to take photos as well asking questions about rhinos and wildlife at large. The tracking activity lasts 2 to 3 hours depending on the location of the rhinos. After your rhino tracking experience, return to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary Restaurant for lunch. Later embark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe or your preferred drop-off point.
