Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Travel by road from Kampala to Kibale via Fort Portal tourism city
Pick up by your driver guide will depend on the agreed location or at the hotel in Kampala city. First, you will have briefing on what this full week expedition is all about and you will be transferred to your first destination –Kibale National Park.
From Kampala via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal-Kibale, your journey will run for 6-7 hours. This covers en-route lunch break at the restaurant at Fort Portal tourism city and you proceed on a scenic drive to the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking adventure with a guide & drive to Queen Elizabeth Park for relaxation
Leave your respective lodge for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking guidelines at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre. From Kanyanchu, start the search for chimpanzee community at 8:00am with an experienced park guide accompanying you. Today, your trek guarantees you a special 1 hour for up close and personal with chimpanzees and photography.
In addition, multiple primates will also be spotted including the grey cheeked mangabeys, l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and many birds. After, you will be accompanied back and proceed to the lodge for relaxation, lunch and later, transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

Day 3: Enjoy a memorable morning game drive and a boat cruise excursion
A morning game drive starts off as early as 6:00am such that you catch up with early risers. With an experienced guide, explore the wonders along Kasenyi Plains, a wildlife track that guarantees visitors with remarkable views of Queen Elizabeth NP biodiversity species including elephants, bushbucks, buffaloes, kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards, lions, and birds.
After a memorable savanna game drive from Kasenyi, drive back to have lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on an inspirational launch or boat cruise through Kazinga channel, about 2 hour experience. This allows you to enjoy a close view of aquatic species such as hippos, crocodiles and birds including fish eagles, kingfishers, saddle storks, pelicans and more.

Day 4: Travel by road up to Bwindi via Ishasha
After a hot cup of tea/coffee, you will leave Queen Elizabeth Park for Bwindi driving through Ishasha sector in the Southern edge. At Ishasha, a short game drive will come with amazing sights of tree climbing lions and some antelopes. From Ishasha, you will be heading to Bwindi to have a relaxed evening stay, dinner and a night stay at the pre-booked lodge.

Day 5: Embark on a remarkable gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi
Early in the morning, enjoy a special cup of tea/coffee while still at the lodge and leave fully prepared for the long day excursion through the rainforest. Get briefed about gorilla trekking safety measures at Buhoma trailhead where you will also be assigned to one gorilla family to track.
Leave Buhoma area for actual trek mountain gorillas and you will be led by an experienced guide. The trek runs for 2-6 hours which includes an hour for up close and personal with a silverback gorilla and its members in the wild. After this special moment, begin trekking back to the lodge and relax till evening when you will have the best of Batwa cultural experience.

Day 6: From Bwindi to Kigali via Katuna/Chanika border
From Bwindi, we set off to Kigali capital city of Rwanda, 4-5 hours’ drive. Arrive at Katuna or Chanika border early to get cleared by authorities then proceed to Kigali where you will check in at the hotel. Have a relaxed afternoon or do some shopping within the city.

Day 7: City excursion & departure
After breakfast, set off for a short city excursion in Kigali. This includes exploring key spots like Kigali genocide site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, local markets and craft centres, etc. Later, settle for a leisurely lunch then proceed to the airport ready to take a flight back home or remain at the hotel.
