Queen Elizabeth National Park spans in the districts of Rukungiri, Rubirizi, Kamwenge and Kasese, inhabiting a huge concentration of birdlife and savanna wildlife. Within this 1978sq.km park, there exist diversity of wildlife including over 95 species of mammals, 625 bird species and many reptiles. The different mammals that survive within Queen Elizabeth Park include chimpanzees, spotted hyenas, leopards, lions, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos, Uganda Kobs, African buffaloes, elephants, topis, giant forest hogs and more.
Bwindi, a rainforest park set in Southwestern Uganda is home to a section of rare mountain gorillas. This park is 331sq.km and protects not only gorillas but also other mammals including African elephants, chimpanzees, yellow-backed duikers, civet, jackals, buffaloes, black fronted duikers and 350 bird species.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park by road
Pick up at the hotel in Kampala and set off on a road trip to the Western part of Uganda to explore Queen Elizabeth National Park natural wonders. The journey to this park includes driving via Masaka-Mbarara-Ishaka route and the 7-8 hours’ drive covers a stopover at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe.
Leave Uganda Equator crossing for Queen Elizabeth Park to check in at the pre-booked accommodation. On arrival at the park, get a warm welcome from diverse wildlife sights that roam around and the spectacular landscape.

Day 2: Lion Tracking and Boat cruise
Early morning after breakfast, you will leave your accommodation for lion tracking navigating via the rich Kasenyi wildlife track. Spend quality time following lions, observing their behaviors and taking pictures. Variety of others animals will also be encountered along this game track including buffaloes, elephants, leopards (on lucky day), antelopes and countless species of birds.
Get back and lunch will be provided at the lodge, relax then proceed with an afternoon boat cruise excursion. The 2-3 hours guided launch cruise includes spotting aquatic species such as crocodiles, hippos and birds.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth Park to Bwindi via Ishasha (Southern sector)
A leisurely breakfast will be enjoyed at the lodge and after, you will be picked up ready for road transfer to Bwindi. Drive via Ishasha where tree climbing lions can be spotted and enjoy bush lunch before you transfer to Bwindi.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park offices to meet the park official who will take you through briefing about gorilla trekking guidelines. The park ranger guide will lead you on a search for mountain gorilla family/group, an adventure that may last between 2 and 6 hours inclusive of one hour for up close and personal with these apes. When you get back, you will have a relaxed stay at the lodge and in the evening, connect to the Batwa community for a cultural experience.
