The 3 days lowland gorilla trek tour is a distinct gorilla safari package designed to allow you interact with the Eastern lowland gorillas in their natural habitat. This is typical Congo gorilla tour package and involves exploring the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
Kahuzi-Biega National Park is a perfect place to explore more about the Eastern lowland gorillas (Grauer’s gorillas). Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali –Congo border
After breakfast, drive off from Kigali city to Congo border where you will get cleared by authorities. Drive through Cyangugu border or navigate via the Bunagana border to Bukavu, the nearest town to Kahuzi-Biega National Park (ideal for guests starting their journey from Kisoro, Southwestern Uganda to D.R. Congo).

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trek in Kahuzi-Biega Park (DRC)
A hearty breakfast enjoyed early in the morning and after, assemble at the park offices for briefing about Eastern lowland gorilla trekking regulations. The park official from Kahuzi-Biega will also assign to you the family of lowland gorillas to track and the normal trek begins at 8:00am. It will last for 2-6 hours which includes an hour for you to observe how these apes behave, their lifestyle, body gestures and also for you capture pictures and some videos.
Kahuzi-Biega is a rich rainforest park beyond gorillas and today, expect to come across other varied mammals and birds. After your interaction with the lowland gorillas, start getting back to the lodge for relaxation, enjoy a leisurely lunch and later, you may proceed with a community visit or explore the nearby waterfalls on a guided nature walk.

Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, you will check out and find your driver waiting for you. Have your property packed into the vehicle and after, you will be driven back to Kigali or to Kisoro (Uganda). En-route, you will have lunch break and some refreshments then proceed to the final destination.
