The 2 days Nyiragongo volcano hike is a remarkable journey to the D.R. Congo to enjoy a thrilling hiking experience on Mount Nyiragongo. Nyiragongo Volcano is spectacular and is notably the most powerful volcano mountains in the world. Mt. Nyiragongo is an active volcano and forms the chain Virunga Massifs.
Nyiragongo Volcano lies at an elevation of 3470sq.km and has multiple eruption record compared to any of the Virunga Volcanoes. The recent eruption took place on 22nd May 2021 and displacing more than 500,000. The 2 day trip includes the first day for ascending and the following day, you descend from the bubbling summits of Nyiragongo Volcano.

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kibati to start ascending to the summits of Nyiragongo
Meet your safari expert after you have had a hefty breakfast and leave your hotel in Gisenyi (Rwanda)/Goma town (Congo). Transfer to Kibati to get briefed at 8:00am and after, have everything you require on your hike. Set off at 10:00am on a guided hike to the great heights of Nyiragongo Volcano (3470m), about 5 hours trek.
While on a hike, keep eyes on the scenic surrounding and the rich biodiversity at the base of the volcano. The porters will be present to assist you carry the heavy luggage and your task will be to concentrate on the hike with no worries.
On getting at the summits, you will be left mesmerized by the spectacular summits and surrounding breathtaking views. Make the best of evening to capture great insights of the summits, especially not to miss the glowing lava lake at night. A leisurely dinner and night stay will be had at the Nyiragongo Summit shelters.
Day 2: Descending from the bubbling lava of Nyiragongo to Kibati & drive to Kigali
After a hefty breakfast, you will meet your guide and after, leave the Nyiragongo summits for Kibati about 2-3 hours. Arrive at Kibati patrol post early and you will be transferred to Kigali in Rwanda.
