The 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla safari and Golden monkeys Rwanda is a complete immersion into Volcanoes National Park in search for your favorite apes in their natural habitat. This unique primate package includes gorilla trekking and golden monkey tracking in Rwanda and your trip will start from Kigali. You will also explore the more about the distinct cultures and traditions of Rwandese at Iby’Iwacu cultural village.
Volcanoes National Park Rwanda is a rich primate destination, also a place where Dian Fossey began her gorilla research journey. On this primate tour, all your treks involve exploring already habituated gorilla groups or golden monkey troops.
The park also shelters other faunal species including bush bucks, duikers, giant forest hogs, forest elephants, spotted hyenas, and birds – Rwenzori batis, Lagden’s bush-shrikes, Kivu ground thrush, collared apalis, Rwenzori double collared sunbirds, weird weavers, Archer’s ground robin, and more.
There are also 5 Virunga Volcanoes within Volcanoes National Park including Bisoke (Visoke), Karisimbi, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.

Day 1: Kigali city excursion, travel to Volcanoes NP
Our safari guide will meet you at the hotel in Kigali and you will set off on a city tour which will last for about 2 hours. The overall Kigali city excursion covers a visit to sites such as Kigali genocide memorial, craft shops and local markets where you can grab some freshly grown fruits in the fertile soils of Rwanda.
After you have explored the wonders of Kigali, set off to Volcanoes National Park Ruhengeri. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge –relax, dine and retire for a night.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & relax
Leave your lodge early and join the rest of the guests for the 7:00am briefing about gorilla trekking regulations. Begin the search for the gorilla family at 8:00am with Volcanoes National Park guide and the entire trek will last for 2-6 hours. The trek will include an hour for you to observe how mountain gorillas behave, their feeding habits, body gestures, and get a chance to take pictures. After, begin walking back to the lodge where the rest of the evening will be had at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes N/Park Ruhengeri & visit Iby’Iwacu Village
Enjoy a hefty breakfast in the morning and proceed to Kinigi for briefing about golden monkey tracking guidelines. The park guides will be assigned to you and the normal trekking will start at 8:00am, taking you about 2-4 hours. The trek includes exploring how golden monkeys behave and taking photos.
You will get back and have a leisurely lunch, then proceed with afternoon cultural experience. The cultural interaction with locals will be at Iby’Iwacu village, then relaxation at the pre-booked accommodation.

Day 4: Departure
Have a delicious breakfast and after, get ready to make your return trip to Kigali. At Kigali, get to the hotel or drop off at the airport for departure and this marks the end of this primate expedition.
